DGP Reviews Security and Crowd Management at Gundicha Temple During Rath Yatra

Puri: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP), accompanied by senior police officials and the Inspector General of Police (Central Range), conducted an extensive review of security arrangements at the Gundicha Temple on Sunday to ensure the smooth conduct of Rath Yatra festivities.

During the visit, the top officers inspected security deployment, traffic regulation measures, and crowd management systems put in place for the lakhs of devotees visiting the temple. They also assessed the ongoing operations on the ground, interacted with police personnel and other officials, and reviewed coordination among various agencies engaged in managing the festival.

The senior officers remained at the venue throughout the day, closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary guidance to field teams. Their visit reflected the Odisha Police’s proactive approach to maintaining law and order while ensuring that religious rituals proceeded without disruption.

The police administration reiterated its commitment to providing a safe, secure, and well-managed environment for devotees, with a focus on facilitating smooth traffic movement and a hassle-free darshan experience during Rath Yatra 2026.
