Couple Found Hanging After Losing Money in Online Gaming
A newly-wed youth was found hanging from a cashew tree near Machhakuta playground under Chhendipada police limits in Angul district on Thursday morning.
The deceased, identified as 24-year-old Manas Behera, had reportedly lost a large amount of money in online gaming.
Manas got married just 15 days ago, but continued playing online games, which often led to quarrels at home. Police said he left his house around 1 pm on Wednesday after an argument with his family. Locals discovered his body hanging from a cashew tree near the playground around 6 am on Thursday and immediately informed his family.
Police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for postmortem examination. They registered an unnatural death case and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
