CM Majhi Mourns Death of Former MLA Akshaya Acharya

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday expressed deep grief over the demise of former Congress MLA Akshaya Kumar Acharya and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.

In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul. “Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former MLA Akshaya Acharya. I express my condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Lord Sri Jagannath for the peaceful repose of the departed soul. Om Shanti,” Majhi wrote.

Akshaya Kumar Acharya had been battling cancer for a long time and was undergoing treatment in Mumbai. According to sources, his health suddenly deteriorated in the early hours of Friday, following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital in Nilgiri. He was later shifted to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.

The demise of the veteran leader has been mourned across political circles, with several leaders expressing sorrow over the loss.
