Class 10 Student Dies After Being Hit by Train in Boudh

Boudh: A Class 10 student died after being struck by a speeding train near Khamaripada village under Boudh police limits on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The deceased was identified as Laxman Das, a resident of Khandapada village and a student of Mundapada High School.

According to preliminary reports, Laxman was walking along the railway track when he was hit by the Bhubaneswar-Purunakatak Intercity SF Express. He suffered critical injuries in the incident and was found lying on the tracks by local residents, who immediately informed the authorities.

Following the alert, ASI Brahmananda Pradhan of the Baghiapada police outpost, along with personnel from the Boudh PCR, reached the spot and recovered the body.

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the fatal incident.

The tragic death of the young student has left residents of Khandapada village in shock and mourning.
