Gunshots In Birmaharajpur; 1 Shot Dead

Birmaharajpur (Pramit Pramathes Satpathy): A young man was killed in a firing incident reported from the Birmaharajpur area of Subarnapur district, triggering panic and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Bikram Maharana (Biki) of Champamal village under Birmaharajpur police limits. He was rushed to Subarnapur District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The exact cause of the firing and the person responsible, however, remain unclear.
The incident occurred around 9 pm on April 17 near the Sub-Collector’s office square. Biki was reportedly sitting with a group of friends and having tea when the situation suddenly turned tragic.
Sources Indicate Possible Accidental Firing
According to preliminary information, a pistol allegedly in the possession of one of his friends is suspected to have discharged at the spot. While this points to a possible accidental firing, officials have not yet confirmed the exact sequence of events.
Those present at the scene immediately rushed Biki to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
