The drive was carried out in Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha and Nayagarh districts. Nayagarh recorded the highest number of vehicles checked at 378, followed by significant enforcement activity in Khordha and Puri, which also contributed heavily to the total penalty amount. Police also shared cumulative figures for the period from January 7 to January 27, 2026, highlighting the scale of the sustained enforcement effort. Enforcement teams paid special attention to commercial and heavy transport vehicles, which are often linked to serious road mishaps when safety norms are ignored.

Among the districts, Nayagarh topped the list in overall vehicle checks during the period with 8,825 inspections, while Puri and Khordha also reported extensive enforcement and high fine collections. Officials emphasized that the objective of the drive is not merely to penalize violators but to promote safer driving habits and prevent loss of life on the roads.

The police have urged citizens to strictly follow traffic regulations, including wearing helmets and seatbelts, avoiding drunken driving, and keeping all vehicle documents up to date. Authorities confirmed that such intensified drives will continue in the coming weeks as part of their commitment to improving road safety across the region.
