Boat capsizes in Ganjam district

Chatrapur: A boat capsized near Podampeta in Ganjam district this morning. At least six fishermen had a close call due to the boat capsize and one more is still missing.
According to information, seven fishermen from Nolia Nuagaon had gone to the seas when the mishap occurred.
The missing person has been identified as N. Kaleya. Operations are underway to rescue the missing.
Under the influence of a high tide, the boat lost balance and capsized in the sea. The fire brigade reached the spot and started the rescue.
Similarly, four fisherman were trapped in the high tides on August 21 on Chudamani Gram Panchayat in Bhadrak district.
In another case, a boat overturned in Mahandi river of Odisha due to which one person has allegedly drowned said reports on Thursday. The youth went missing as the boat capsized in the river.
According to reports, while traveling in a boat with a few friends, the boat capsized in the middle of the river. The accident occurred in Sahanga Gopalpur village under Banki police station. There were five people in the boat.
According to reports, four of the friends swam and escaped whereas one other went missing. The local people are still searching for the missing youth.
