Bishnoi Gang Allegedly Eyes Mumbai Underworld Dominance, Seeks to Challenge D-Company: Cops

Mumbai, Oct 31: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang was allegedly attempting to establish its dominance in Mumbai by challenging the long-standing influence of Dawood Ibrahim’s D-Company, according to findings emerging from the Mumbai Crime Branch investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.
Police suspect that the gang was seeking to recreate the atmosphere of fear once associated with Mumbai’s underworld during the 1990s to expand its alleged extortion network targeting builders, businessmen and Bollywood personalities.
A senior Mumbai Police official said the gang allegedly wanted to establish its control over the city’s criminal network by creating fear among prominent business and entertainment industry figures.
12 Arrested in Firing Case
The Crime Branch has so far arrested 12 people in connection with the firing at Tiger Shroff’s car. During the investigation, officials reportedly recovered several audio clips containing references to alleged underworld figures.
The recordings are currently undergoing forensic examination to establish their authenticity, identify the individuals involved and ascertain the extent of the gang’s alleged network.
Investigators are also examining whether the firing incident was part of a larger strategy to spread fear and strengthen the gang’s presence in Mumbai.
The Mumbai Crime Branch has intensified its investigation to identify other members of the alleged network and uncover the wider conspiracy behind the incident. Further investigation is underway.
