A snake found in Cuttack Park

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Cuttack, Sept 2: A member of NGO People For Animal on Saturday night rescued a seven-feet-long python, weighing around 12kg from the Biren Mitra Park in CDA Sector-11 under Markatnagar police station in Cuttack. Some locals had noticed the snake sleeping near the gate of the park at about 8PM and informed local police station. After being informed, activist Tilak Kar rescued it and released it in Dama-Damani forest at Choudwar.

The python is believed to have been swept away from the jungle in the flood water and sneaked into the park.
