6 hour Puri Bandh today by BJD

Puri: As the Biju Janata Dal has called for a 6 hour Bandh in Puri district today, hundreds of vehicles are seen stranded in both sides of the Pipili toll gate in Puri district of Odisha. As per the party, the Bandh has been called for justice to the Balanga victim. However, many people are seen facing trouble to execute their daily urgent duties for the Bandh.

As per reports, the strike which started at 6 am today will continue till 12 noon.

The party has blocked the road in front of Pipili tollgate. Hence, hundreds of vehicles are parked on both sides of the road.

The BJD has also raised questions about the police investigation done in this case. The party has demanded that the government reveal the truth of the incident as soon as possible.

The BJD has asked public to keep the shop closed in Puri today and stop vehicles to ply on the road.

It is to be noted that earlier Odisha Police have confirmed that no other person was involved in the death of the said girl in Balanga area.

Besides, the deceased’s father had also said that government has helped them in whatever way possible. In a video, the father of the victim girl said, “I want to say that the Government has done whatever possible for my daughter. My daughter is no more with me.” He further said, “My daughter took away her life as she was mentally under pressure. Thus, I request everyone not to politicise the matter and pray for her soul.”

The employee of a private company who was going to office and stopped by the protestors said, “Despite the police and the victim’s father have clarified about the case, still, the 6-hour Puri Bandh is being organised”.
