Subarnapur: 16 injured after Hyva hits Winger

Subarnapur: As many as 16 people injured after a Hyva truck hit a Winger in Subarnapur district of Odisha yesterday night. The accident took place at about 2 am in the night on the Balangir-Sonepur 57 number National Highway near Jhinki Panthei. Four persons off the 16 injured have sustained critical injury.
As per reports, 20 people including the driver were going to Puri in a Winger vehicle from Sagarpali village in Subarnapur district.
While they were offering prayers near the Panthei on the Jhinki road, a Hyva vehicle suddenly came from behind at a high speed and hit the rear of the Winger. The accident was so severe that the Winger was completely damaged.
Four people were critical injured in the accident, while 16 others, including the driver, were injured. Some people were trapped inside the vehicle.
It is reported that the fire brigade personnel reached the spot immediately after receiving the information and rescued them with the help of a gas cutter.
It is also reported that there were some women including four children among the passengers.
The injured were immediately rescued and taken to Sonepur hospital. However, as their condition was critical, it is reported that four people were sent to VIMSAR in Burla of Sambalpur.
Following the accident the Hyva fled from the scene. The locals have demanded to apprehend the Hyva vehicle at the earliest.
