BJD to Elect State President by April First Week
Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will elect its state president, executive committee members and state council members by the first week of April, informed senior party leader Pradip Kumar Amat today.
While addressing the newsmen, Amat said, “Following the direction of party president Naveen Patnaik, the Coordination Committee of the Biju Janata Dal held its meeting at Shanka Bhavan in Bhubaneswar under the Chairmanship of Debiprasad Mishra.”
“Members of different advisory committees including Prasanna Acharya, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, and Pramila Mallik along with the 13 members of the Coordination Committee took part in the meeting physically while others joined virtually,” he added.
He further said that party’s State Returning Officer (SRO) Pratap Deb also attended the meeting during which it was decided to appoint the District Returning Officers (DRO) by the first week of February. Later, other functionaries of the party will also be given appointments.
“The members of the executive committee, state council members and state president will also be elected by the first week of April and before the beginning of the Odia New year 2025,” Amat informed.
Earlier on January 31, the conch party appointed as many as 10 leaders to expedite its current organisational activities in different assembly constituencies of Odisha.
