Dambaru Sisa Quits BJD

Bhubaneswar: The former MLA of Chitrakonda, Dambaru Sisa, resigned from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday. Sisa, who belongs to the Bonda tribal community, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG), was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2014 as a BJD candidate.
Sisa sent his resignation letter to BJD president Naveen Patnaik today. Pertinent to mention here that Sisa was denied a BJD ticket for the 2019 General Elections, but was denied.
Sisa said that having been a primary member of Biju Janata Dal for the last 16 years, it was now time for him to move on. Tendering resignation from the primary membership of BJD, Sisa said that his aim and purpose remain the same as it has always been from the very beginning to serve the people of the state and constituency.
“I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party. So to meet the aspirations of my people and my workers, I believe it is best to look forward to a fresh start,” Sisa added.
