Former Minister Sk. Matlub Ali Dies at 78

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Former Odisha minister and senior Congress leader Sk. Matlub Ali passed away today. He was 78.

He was admitted to a private hospital in state capital on September 7 after he complained of illness. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital this morning.

Ali was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly four times (1974, 1980, 1985, and 1995) from Mahanga constituency as Congress candidate. Politicians cutting across party lines expressed grief and condoled the demise of the veteran leader.
