Hirakud dam closes 10 sluice gates

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): Amidst constant rainfall across Odisha, authorities today closed another four gates of Hirakud dam to keep the water level maintained at the reservoir. With closure of 4 gates, the floodwater is currently being discharged from the dam through 10 gates. Earlier in the day, six sluice gates were closed at the reservoir and the floodwater was being released from 14 gates. Now, the water level at Rengali dam on Mahanadi River is rising. It was recorded 122.55 metre in the dam at 6.00 am today.
