Maoists Kill Contractor In Kandhamal

Reporters Today, Phulbani, April 28 : Suspected Maoists haeve killed a contractor in Damanapadar village under Phiringia police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district late on Saturday triggering panic among the villagers.

Official reports reaching here said, a group of armed Maoists barged into the village late in the night and called out for the local contractor Kailash Digal. Later, they took him to the outskirts of the village and shot him dead.

The villagers found the body of Digal on Sunday morning and informed the police.

Police rushed to the spot and found some Maoist posters and leaflets near the body of the contractor.

A joint combing operation by the Central force and the SOG personnel has begun in the area to track down the Left-wing extremists.
