1.5 Quintals Of Ganja Seized After High-Speed Chase In Mayurbhanj, Three Detained

Baripada: Bhanjpur Police seized around 1.5 quintals of ganja and lakhs of rupees in cash after intercepting a car following a high-speed chase near Laxmiposi in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

According to reports, police launched a pursuit after receiving a tip-off about the transportation of contraband ganja in a vehicle. The car allegedly attempted to evade police but was eventually intercepted near Laxmiposi.

During the search, police recovered around 150 kg of ganja along with a substantial amount of cash from the vehicle.

Three persons travelling in the car have been detained for questioning. Preliminary information suggests that one of them hails from neighbouring West Bengal, raising suspicion of an interstate drug trafficking network.

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband.
