IAS Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh Likely to Move to Bihar on Inter-Cadre Deputation

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Senior IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, a 1997-batch officer currently serving as Principal Secretary of the Works Department and the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department in Odisha, is likely to move to his home cadre of Bihar on inter-cadre deputation.

The process has reportedly begun after the Centre, in a letter dated October 22, sought a vigilance report on the officer from the Odisha government. The move has strengthened indications of his proposed transfer to the Bihar cadre.

Singh had earlier served in Bihar on inter-cadre deputation for nearly seven years, from February 2008 to February 2015. During this period, he held key administrative positions, including District Magistrate of Gaya and Patna. He also served as Additional Secretary in Bihar’s Home Department and as Special Secretary and Secretary to the Chief Minister.

However, his proposed move will be subject to the completion of the prescribed inter-cadre deputation process.
