Cyclone Threat to Odisha? Low-Pressure System May Intensify, Rain Alert from October 26

Bhubaneswar: Odisha may witness rainfall from October 26 as a low-pressure system is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal and intensify into a depression by October 25. The system could further strengthen into a cyclone around October 27 or 28, though its track and landfall remain uncertain.
Several districts, including coastal areas, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar, may receive light to moderate rainfall. The IMD has reportedly issued a Yellow Warning for 13 districts on October 26, with rain alerts for eight districts on
October 27 and 12 districts on October 28. International weather models indicate the possibility of cyclone formation, with a potential landfall along the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh coast. Weather expert Surendra Nath Pashupalak has also suggested possible cyclone formation on October 27 or 28, with a potential landfall between Jagatsinghpur and Ganjam if the system moves towards Odisha.
However, the cyclone threat, its intensity and trajectory are yet to be confirmed. Residents are advised to follow official IMD updates.
