Digital News Channel Chief Held by Khandagiri Police in Attempted Murder, Criminal Intimidation Case
Bhubaneswar, October 12: Sudhansu Sekhar Rout, editor-in-chief of regional digital news channel Focus Plus, was arrested by Bhubaneswar’s Khandagiri Police on Monday in connection with a case involving allegations of attempted murder and criminal intimidation.
Rout’s arrest comes amid mounting legal troubles, with more than 40 cases reportedly linked to him. He had allegedly been evading the police for months before being apprehended.
The latest arrest adds to the legal troubles facing Rout, who has been under scrutiny in Odisha over several allegations. Police had earlier sealed the Focus Plus office and frozen four bank accounts linked to him as part of the extortion probe.
