Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 Holds Strong at Box Office

Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has maintained a strong run at the box office despite witnessing a drop in collections after its impressive opening. The film earned around Rs. 9 crore nett on Monday, taking its four-day total to approximately Rs. 90 crore nett.

The Monday collection represents a drop of nearly 60 per cent compared with the holiday-eve-boosted opening day. However, the film’s hold is considered encouraging, particularly given its strong start.

The movie is expected to benefit from Discount Day, which could help push its domestic net collection beyond the Rs. 100 crore mark. Its first-week collection is currently projected to reach around Rs. 115 crore nett.
With its current performance, Awarapan 2 has emerged as a super hit. If it manages to maintain strong collections during its second week, the film could potentially enter blockbuster territory.

However, sustaining the momentum may prove challenging as the genre is generally considered front-loaded. While the upcoming weekend has no major competition, Toxic is scheduled to arrive next Wednesday and could affect Awarapan 2’s theatrical run. Ultimately, the film’s performance against the new competition will determine whether it can make the leap from super hit to blockbuster.
