Katak Minor boy stripped and assault case: One accused arrested

Kataka: In a latest development, the Chauliaganja police have arrested an accused in connection with the minor boy being stripped and assault incident in Katak.

The arrested accused has been identified as Prabin Sahu. The police is also trying to trace the other four accused and arrest them.

The incident came to light after a video of the minor boy being stripped and assaulted in the Chauliaganj of Kataka city went viral in the area.

In the viral video, a group of youths can be seen stripping the minor boy and assaulting him by scolding him. One of them even was seen thrashing the boy with a bamboo stick while the victim was pleading with folded hands to let him go.

The viral video is expected to have been recorded by the assailants themselves.

The boy’s family lodged a complaint at the Chauliaganj Police station seeking an investigation into the matter.

The family members, meanwhile, claimed that the boy was stripped and assaulted because of past enmity.

Based on the complaint, police initiated an investigation into the matter. However, it is yet to be known when, where and for what the boy stripped and assaulted.
