Chandrika Hembram died of drowning, autopsy reports show

Udala: The autopsy reports of MBBS student Chandrika Hembram has indicated that she died due to drowning.
The report revealed that she was asphyxiated in water.
The report comes nearly a week after Chandrika’s body was recovered from the Kathajodi riverbed near Trisulia in Cuttack on June 5.
Chandrika, a medical student from Mayurbanhj district studying at FM Medical College and Hospital, Balasore, was found dead near the Kathajodi river after her belongings, including a bag and slippers, were reportedly found on the bridge.
Chandrika’s family alleged that she had been subjected to mental harassment and demanded a detailed investigation into the case. Based on a complaint lodged by the family, police began examining various aspects of the case, including her recent interactions and personal relationships.
The Commissionerate Police said the investigation is still underway.
