Bhubaneswar: In a significant breakthrough in the high-profile Odagaon murder case that had sent shockwaves across the region, police on Tuesday apprehended two more prime accused — Jaga Panda and Kullu Bhatta — bringing the total number of arrests in the case to six.
With the arrest of the duo, police confirmed that all the main accused involved in the brutal murder have now been taken into custody. The latest development comes after days of intensive manhunt, raids, and sustained surveillance by the investigating team.

The murder case had triggered massive public outrage and tension in Odagaon after the victim was allegedly attacked in a planned and violent manner. Soon after the incident, police formed special teams and launched an extensive crackdown to trace those involved. Earlier, four other accused persons had been apprehended during successive operations, while the two remaining key suspects had reportedly been absconding to evade arrest.
Police sources said the investigation is progressing rapidly, and further interrogation of the accused is expected to reveal more details regarding the motive, planning, and sequence of events leading to the murder. Security was also tightened in the area following the incident to prevent any untoward situation.
