Odisha Youth Killed in Ukraine Drone Strike in Russia
An Odia youth from Ganjam district died in a drone strike in Ukraine amid the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine war.
The deceased, identified as A. Rameya from Madhabandh village under Chikiti block, had travelled to Russia a month ago for work.
Reports confirmed that Rameya was caught in a Ukrainian drone attack while working in a conflict zone. The incident has shocked his family and the local community. Ganjam District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan confirmed the death and said communication with the Indian Embassy is in progress to repatriate the body.
Officials stated that Rameya had been employed in Russia for only a few weeks before the tragedy struck. The district administration is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs to expedite the process of bringing his remains back to Odisha.
The Collector assured that all necessary assistance will be provided to the bereaved family.
