IMD Issues Nowcast Warning for Thunderstorms in Northern and Western Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday evening issued a nowcast warning forecasting imminent thunderstorm activity in parts of northern and western Odisha.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts over the next two hours.

The weather agency has issued a ‘Yellow’ warning, urging residents to remain alert and closely monitor weather conditions for any sudden changes.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to take necessary precautions, including moving to safer locations during lightning activity, to minimise the risk of injury.
