Woman Beaten to Death by Husband in Sundargarh Village

Sundargarh: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Sasyakala village near Barasuan under Lahunipara police station limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Sarfina Minz. According to preliminary reports, an argument broke out between Sarfina and her husband, Julu Minz, over an unspecified issue. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly attacked her with a wooden plank, striking her repeatedly on the head and other parts of the body.

The assault left Sarfina critically injured, and she collapsed at the scene.

On receiving information, Lahunipara police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted her to Lahunipara Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police have detained the accused husband and seized the weapon used in the crime. He is currently being interrogated, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
