Over 5.46 Lakh Students Take HSC Exam in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The High School Certificate (HSC) Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) commenced today, with as many as 5,46,582 students appearing across 3,082 centres in the state.

To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations, strict measures have been implemented. Mobile phones are completely prohibited inside examination halls for invigilators and staff. All centres are under CCTV surveillance, and live streaming of the examinations is being carried out. A dedicated command control room has also been set up at the Board to monitor the process.

This year, 3,999 differently-abled students are appearing for the Class X board examination. Special arrangements have been made to accommodate them on the ground floor of examination centres.

Differently-abled candidates will be provided an additional 50 minutes for each paper and 55 extra minutes for the mathematics examination. Students requiring writing assistance will be supported by helpers with educational qualifications up to Class IX.

To curb malpractice, the Board has formed 37 special squads, while 72 district-level squads have been constituted under the supervision of District Education Officers (DEOs).

The HSC examination is being conducted simultaneously with the State Open School (SOS) and Sanskrit Madhyama examinations. A total of 12,414 students are appearing for the State Open School Certificate examination, while 2,748 students are taking the Madhyama examination.
