Unidentified Man Found Dead Near NH-53 in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Police on Monday recovered the body of an unidentified man near National Highway-53, opposite the Hirakud Railway Station in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

According to police, the deceased is yet to be identified and is believed to be between 50 and 55 years of age. A pair of shoes was found lying near the body.

Officials said the body was spotted near the Railways’ Holiday Home by passersby in the morning, who immediately alerted the police. Acting on the information, personnel from Burla police station rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection.

The body was later sent to the morgue at the VIMSAR police outpost for post-mortem examination. Based on the initial inquiry, police have registered a case of unnatural death and stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
