Cattle Found Illegally Transported Inside Oil Tanker in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: In a shocking incident, cattle were found being illegally transported inside an oil tanker near Barikpur Chowk in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Sunday.

According to reports, cattle smugglers allegedly adopted a new method to evade detection by hiding animals inside a petrol tanker. The vehicle was reportedly transporting cattle from Cuttack to West Bengal. Suspecting illegal activity, local activists chased the tanker and managed to intercept it near Barikpur.

Upon inspection, around 30 cattle were rescued from inside the tanker. Two of the animals were found dead, allegedly due to suffocation and inhuman conditions during transportation.

Following the rescue, tension prevailed in the area as angry locals gathered at the spot and vandalised the tanker. The driver, however, fled the scene before police arrived.

Police later reached the location and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver and identify others involved in the illegal cattle trafficking network.
