Evening Traffic Enforcement Drive Conducted in Puri City Under ‘Operation Jeevan Raksha’

Puri: As part of Operation Jeevan Raksha, the Puri Police on Wednesday conducted a special evening traffic enforcement drive across the Puri City Subdivision to curb traffic violations and enhance public safety.
The drive was carried out under the initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Central Range (IG, CR), with a focus on checking drunken driving, reckless riding, and other violations that pose risks to road users.

During the enforcement operation, police booked 33 cases in total. These included four cases of drunken driving by auto-rickshaw drivers, five cases of drunken driving involving motorcyclists, and three cases of triple riding. Action was also taken against vehicles with modified silencers, with five cases registered. Additionally, 16 cases of public drinking were booked at various locations across the city.
Police officials stated that the primary objective of the drive was not only strict enforcement of traffic rules but also to sensitize citizens about the importance of road safety and responsible behavior in public spaces.

Authorities have indicated that similar enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to ensure safer roads and stricter compliance with traffic regulations in Puri city.
