Govt Reviewing DPRs of Major Cuttack Drain Projects as Directed by High Court

Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday informed the Assembly that the department is actively reviewing the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of five major storm water drain projects in Cuttack, in compliance with the Odisha High Court’s directives.
Responding to a question raised by MLA Sofia Firdous, the Minister clarified that there is no delay in the review process. He added that further action will be taken once the revetted DPRs are submitted by IIT Bhubaneswar.

To tackle persistent waterlogging problems in Cuttack, the state government has sanctioned Rs 4 crore for the preparation of a comprehensive drainage master plan. In addition, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has initiated short-term measures to clear rainwater from vulnerable pockets across the city.
Officials said these steps are aimed at strengthening storm water management and providing long-term relief to residents affected by chronic flooding.
