IMD issues yellow warnings for thunderstorm with lightning till September 16

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued yellow warnings for thunderstorm with lightning in Odisha till September 16.

As predicted by the weather department, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in different districts of the state for the next five days.

Check the day-wise warnings of the IMD for Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of September 12):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, and Malkangiri.
• Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of September 12 to 8.30 AM of September 13):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur.
• Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of September 13 to 8.30 AM of September 14):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.

Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of September 14 to 8.30 AM of September 15):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.

Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 AM of September 15 to 8.30 AM of September 16):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.
