Manmohan Samal leaves for New Delhi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal has left for New Delhi today, amid the speculations of Cabinet expansion in Odisha. He had returned from his visit to Delhi a day ago.

In his previous visit, he had met several BJP leaders at the National Capital City. His second visit to New Delhi has given fumes to the Cabinet expansion in Odisha. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is also expected to visit New Delhi tomorrow.

According to reports, the Chief Minister and party president are scheduled to meet all the party MPs at the residence of Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi tomorrow. The Mohan Majhi government is going to complete 15 months on September 12. But the cabinet has not been expanded yet. So, everyone is watching the profile of the cabinet to see if it changes anytime soon.

On the other hand, BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik embarked on his four-day New Delhi visit from today. His visit to New Delhi will be of significance ahead of the Vice-Presidential elections on September 9.

The Biju Janata Dal’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) convened an important meeting on Saturday at Naveen Niwas- the first since party president Naveen Patnaik’s recovery from cervical arthritis surgery. The meeting indicated that Patnaik is back into action mode and will actively shape the party’s strategy and policies.

The PAC reviewed the recently revamped student, youth, and women wings of the party, emphasizing the need for closer grassroots coordination and outreach.
