IMD Warns Fishermen Against Venturing into Sea on Sept 2-3

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory cautioning fishermen not to venture into the sea on September 2 and 3 due to adverse weather conditions.

According to the forecast, sea conditions will remain rough to very rough, with wind speeds reaching 40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph.

The IMD further reported that a low-pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and is expected to intensify while moving west-northwestwards across Odisha in the next 24 hours. The system is likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state.

Authorities have warned that the weather system could cause significant disruptions. Residents have been urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest forecasts.
