942 Personnel Awarded, 19 Odias Honored

Bhubaneswar: A total of 942 personnel from the Police, Fire, Home Guard, Civil Defence, and Correctional Services have been honored with Gallantry and Service Medals on the occasion of Republic Day, 2025. Among them, 19 personnel from Odisha have received this prestigious recognition.

Leading Fireman Brahmarbara Sethi from Odisha will be conferred with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Additionally, Prashant Kumar Sahu, Biswarajan, Abhimanyu Pradhan, and Narendra Kumar Bhalla will be awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service.

The Ministry of Home Affairs awards these honors to recognize exceptional bravery and distinguished service by personnel across India. This year, 95 Gallantry Awards, 101 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 746 Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM) have been announced.

From Odisha, six police personnel have been awarded the President’s Gallantry Medal for their acts of bravery, two will receive the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, and 11 have been honored with the Medal for Meritorious Service.
