23 Odia Tourists Rescued from Violence-Hit Nepal

Bhubaneswar: In a swift and coordinated operation, 23 Odia tourists stranded in violence-hit Nepal were successfully rescued and brought back to India. The tourists, who had travelled to Nepal on a leisure trip, were caught in the middle of the unrest and faced difficulties in returning home.

The rescue mission was carried out within just five hours, thanks to the concerted efforts of multiple agencies. These included the Directorate of Odisha Parivar under the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, the Office of the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and the Ambassador of India to Romania, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahapatra.

Authorities confirmed that all 23 tourists have safely returned to India. Their prompt evacuation ensured relief for their families back in Odisha.

The rescued tourists have been identified as Ajay Kumar Panda, Mamina Panda, Pankaj Kumar Dhal, Bharat Kumar Swain, Kamini Swain, Sharda Prasanna Kar, Rima Kar, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Suren Dalai, Viren Dalai, Parsuram Dalai, Purnachandra Dalai, Prasannajit Dalai, Brajkishore Mishra, Lopamudra Mishra, Shreyan Saurabh Mishra, Santosh Kumar Pani, Sasmita Pani, Bagmipriya Pani, Pramod Kumar Mishra, Rajshree Mishra, Baishnab Sahu, and Suresh Chandra Sahu.

The timely intervention of the authorities has been widely appreciated, with officials stressing that the safety of citizens remains the top priority during such crises.
