Yuvraj Singh praises Shubman Gill’s record breaking century and India’s stunning draw against England

Yuvraj Singh complimented Team India’s amazing display of grit in drawing with England at Old Trafford. “You cannot save a Test match like that without serious temperament as well, especially in a match where nothing is easy!” Yuvraj tweeted on X.
India had a big 311-run deficit post England’s aggressive first innings, but the Indian team came out and batted beautifully with Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar all scored centuries. Gill became the first player to have four centuries in his captaincy debut series, while Jadeja and Sundar showed great patience and grit in keeping the series alive.
The game saw records being broken and the teams pushed to the limit. England’s Joe Root and Ben Stokes were important in their team’s batting, with Root breaking Ricky Ponting’s record to become the second-highest Test run-getter. Yuvraj praised Root’s feat, stating, “Kudos to @root66 on taking his runs tally to the top!”
In India’s first innings, half-centuries were scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant, while Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer took five and three wickets, respectively, for England. The opening stand by Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett in the second innings would have put the English in command of the game, but the solid wall presented by India’s spin team of Jadeja and Sundar foiled English bowling.
Yuvraj Singh also praised KL Rahul for his precious contribution stating “@klrahul showed his experience and showed us again that he is worth to the team!” The series is 1-2 in favour of England, with the last Test starting on July 31 at The Oval. India’s courageous draw has kept them alive in the pursuit to tie the series.
