YouTuber Swept Away While Filming at Duduma Waterfall in Koraput

Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old YouTuber went missing on Saturday after being swept away by strong currents while filming reels at Duduma waterfall in Odisha’s Koraput district.
The missing youth has been identified as Sagar Tudu of Berhampur in Ganjam district. He had travelled to Koraput along with his friend Abhijit Behera of Cuttack to shoot videos of tourist destinations for his YouTube channel.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the afternoon when Sagar was recording videos with the help of a drone camera. Water flow at the waterfall increased suddenly after authorities of the Machakunda dam released around 2,000 cusecs of water due to heavy rainfall in the Lamtaput area.
Sagar, who was stranded on a rock, was swept away despite efforts by locals and tourists to rescue him. Following information, Machakunda police and Fire Brigade personnel launched a rescue operation, but he remained untraced till the last reports came in.
Notably, a similar incident was reported in June this year when an engineer was swept away at Duduma waterfall during the Raja festival. Despite extensive rescue operations, his body could not be recovered.
