Youth sustains critical injuries as dispute over fish escalates into a fight in Khordha

Khordha: A youth sustained critical injuries after getting brutally beaten as dispute over fish distribution escalated into a brawl in Khajuria village in Ghambahrimunda panchayat in Khordha district.

The victim has been identified as Bibhuti Parida of Khajuria village.

According to reports, fish caught from the village pond was being distributed when a youth suddenly cut in and bought the fish when Bibhuti’s turn came. So, Bibhuti protested and questioned why the youth was allowed to take the fish when he has not made a number to buy fish.

The youth got angry for being questioned and attacked Bibhuti severely, and a brawl broke out. Bibhuti sustained injuries on his head during the brawl and was rushed to the nearby hospital.

Two complaints have been filed at the Nachuni police station following the fight. Acting on the complaint, the police have started investigating the case.
