Youth Stabbed to Death in Khordha, Police Probe Previous Enmity Angle

Khordha: A youth was allegedly murdered in a brutal knife attack at Khudupur Chowk under the jurisdiction of Jatani Police Station in Khordha district late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Markanda Baliarsingh, popularly known as Jaga, a resident of Khudupur village.

According to police sources, Markanda was standing near Khudupur Chowk when an unidentified assailant allegedly launched a sudden attack. The attacker repeatedly stabbed him in the chest and abdomen before fleeing the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, a team from Jatani Police Station reached the scene and launched an investigation. One person has been detained for questioning as part of the probe.

Police suspect that the killing may have stemmed from an old rivalry or personal enmity. However, the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is in progress to identify and apprehend the accused.
