Youth Drowns While Bathing in Canal in Kalahandi

Bhubaneswar: A 35-year-old man drowned while bathing in the Patrabasa canal under Kalampur block in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

The deceased has been identified as Jhasaketan Nayak of Patrabasa village.

According to reports, the incident occurred while he was bathing in the canal. Fire Services personnel were alerted and later retrieved the body from the water.

He was taken to a nearby Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead.

Kalampur police have registered an unnatural death case and seized the body. It has been sent to Jayapatna Gosthi Health Centre for post-mortem examination.

Further investigation is underway.
