Youth Critically Injured in Sword Attack Near AIIMS Bhubaneswar After Khandagiri Jatra

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident raising fresh concerns over law and order in the Odisha capital, a youth sustained critical injuries after allegedly being attacked with a sword by a group of miscreants in the early hours of Saturday while returning from the Khandagiri Jatra.
The victim has been identified as Chintu, a resident of the Patrapada area in Bhubaneswar.

According to preliminary reports, Chintu was on his way home after attending a Jatra performance at the Khandagiri Mela when he was reportedly chased by a group of assailants along the road near AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The attackers allegedly assaulted him with a sword before fleeing the scene.
Past enmity suspected
Initial findings indicate that the attack may have been the result of past enmity. However, police officials have stated that the exact motive behind the assault is yet to be confirmed.
Victim found in pool of blood
Local residents discovered Chintu lying in a pool of blood on the roadside and immediately rushed him to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify and trace the accused. Efforts are underway to piece together the sequence of events and determine the number of people involved in the attack.
