Woman found dead inside train toilet

Balangir: An elderly woman was found dead inside a train toilet under mysterious circumstances in Balangir district of Odisha on Wednesday.

The elderly woman’s body was reportedly found from the toilet of the PwD (Divyangjan) friendly coach of Visakhapatnam-Raipur Passenger train.

Though immediately it is not known when and under what circumstances the woman died inside the train toilet, the matter came to light when the train guard spotted her body and informed the station master when the train reached the Kantabanji railway station today.

Soon, the Kantabanji railway station master alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP) about the woman’s death, following which the railway doctor reached the spot and declared her dead after conducting inspection.

Meanwhile, the GRP started an investigation into the matter after seizing the body and registering an unnatural death case. They also are attempting to ascertain the identity of the deceased woman and the exact cause of her death.

The reason behind the woman’s death could be known following the completion of postmortem, however, it would be difficult for the GRP to establish her identity as she has no any document with her, informed sources.

However, from the given circumstances and the appearance of the elderly woman, cops assume her to be earning her livelihood by begging in the train, added the sources.
