Woman Dies After Falling From Four-Storey Building in Paradip; Police Probe Underway

Bhubaneswar: A woman died after allegedly falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in the Tarinigada area of Paradip late Sunday night under mysterious circumstances. Police said it is yet to be ascertained whether the incident was accidental or a case of suicide.
The identity of the deceased has not been established so far. Her body was found lying face down on the ground without clothes. In a startling development, her dress was found hanging from a pipeline midway down the building. Personal belongings, including a pair of slippers, a mosquito coil and a cigarette, were reportedly found scattered on the rooftop.
On being informed, Paradip Adarsh police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Sources said nine young men are staying as tenants on the upper floor of the building. However, the house owner claimed that the deceased woman was not a resident of the premises, describing her presence there as a mystery.
Police have seized CCTV footage and the hard disk from the building for examination. Seven tenants have been detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
