Woman Allegedly Hacks Husband to Death Over Family Dispute in Ganjam

Khallikote/Gopalpur: In a chilling case of domestic violence, a woman allegedly murdered her husband following a heated family dispute in Talsara village under Beguniapada police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Bhuiyan, while his wife, Reena Bhuiyan, has been named as the prime accused in the brutal killing.
According to preliminary reports, the couple had a severe fallout on Tuesday night. In a fit of rage, Reena allegedly attacked Narayan with an axe and later bludgeoned his head with a brick, killing him on the spot. She reportedly hid the body later that night to avoid detection.
Police reached the scene after receiving a tip-off and have launched an investigation into the incident. “Though the exact sequence of events is yet to be confirmed, preliminary evidence points to a family dispute as the motive,” a police official stated. “The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem. All possible angles are being probed.”
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the severity of underlying domestic tensions.
