White Tiger Cub Dies at Nandankanan Zoological Park

Bhubaneswar: A white tiger cub at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) in Bhubaneswar died on Saturday night despite being under intensive veterinary care.
The cub, born on June 7 to tigress Mousumi and tiger Rajesh, had been unwell since birth. It was separated from its mother and kept under special care at the zoo’s veterinary unit.
Zoo authorities said that despite continuous treatment, the cub could not survive and succumbed to its illness on Saturday night.
With the death of the cub, the number of white tigers at Nandankanan has come down to five, while the overall tiger population in the park stands at 28.
