Voting Begins for Hindol & Atabira NAC Polls

Bhubaneswar: Voting for the elections to two Notified Area Councils (NACs) – Hindol in Dhenkanal district and Atabira in Bargarh district began at 8 am today. Amid tight security, the voting will be held till 5 pm.
As per reports, a total of 9,863 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in Hindol. As many as 16 booths have been setup for voting, out of which eight have been marked as sensitive and four as over-sensitive. In addition, two pink booths have also been made for women voters.
Similarly in Atabira, a total of 13,020 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise and decide the fate of four candidates who are contesting for the post of NAC chairman, and 39 candidates who are trying their luck for councilor posts. The counting of votes and declaration of results will be done on April 5.
