Vishal & Vineel in Pivotal Positions

Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): The two jewels of Odisha bureaucracy, R Vineel Krishna and Vishal Dev have been given responsible posts with a major reshuffle in IAS cadre by the Odisha Government.

2005 batch IAS R Vineel Krishna, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has been given the additional charge of Sports and Youth Services. The additional appointment of Vineel Krishna as Special secretary to Government, Sports and Youth Services Department shall stand terminated from the date of his joining as Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Sports & Youth Services Department. Similarly, 1996 batch IAS Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary of Tourism and Sports Department, has been posted as Principal Secretary of Finance Department.

The super duo have shown tremendous performances in their respective positions in the past. In the time of Coronavirus pandemic or in Yaas, The above officers were deployed at the front as warriors to combat the dangerous scenes. Previously, IAS Vineel Krishna appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to CM Naveen  for better management of pandemic situation in the state. Similarly Vishal Dev was also assigned to manage tha Yaas situation in coastal belt.  For the good work and marvelous records of Vishal in various departments, specially in Tourism and Sports, the State government put him in a most responsible post with Finance department.

As the special secretary of sports, Vineel performed nicely. In his tenure, Odisha took the sponsorship of national men and women hockey team for four years. With Vineel’s superb effort, the hockey world cup 2019 was organised in Kalinga Stadium successfully completed. The major attraction of hockey world cup- Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were invited to Odisha with Vineel’s initiative.
