Bhubaneswar: Fear gripped Lanka village in the Digapahandi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district after a viral social media video allegedly showed a leopard perched atop Sunakhala hill under the Samantiapalli forest range.

The video, widely circulated by local residents, sparked concern over safety, with villagers apprehensive about potential threats to both livestock and people moving near the hilly terrain.

Following the alert, a forest team from the Samantiapalli section reached the village to investigate the matter. Officials are currently verifying the authenticity of the video and assessing whether the animal seen is indeed a leopard or another wild species commonly found in the region.
